In modern music industry, electronic music is one of the most popular parts. And the new life style that is brought by electronic music has also become a trend for young people.
One of the most important part in electronic music industry is the DJs. Usually, a DJ is a person that mixes records for their audience. As seen on TV or news, a lot of them are really successful and are having a real celebrity’s life just like the most famous singers in the world do.
But when people talk about these DJs, they really need to mention the company, Spinnin’ Records. People that know little about electronic music may never heard about it, but one noticeable thing for everyone is that they have the most famous DJs in the world.
Like Martin Garrix that made the hit song “Animals”,
Avicii that made the song “Wake Me Up”
and Cedric Gervais that get the Grammy Award with his remix of the song "Summertime Sadness”. They are all DJs of the company Spinnin’ Records and they are all really talented on music mixing.
If there is a place that could be seen as the center of electronic music, that must be Europe. This continent is not even as big as the US, but it indeed has the most amazing and talented electronic music makers and DJs in the whole world. Some people say it is because of the support of their government that these DJs are sure they could at least live a comfortable life even they didn’t make a big success on it. And it is surely a encouraging thing to these European DJs, which made their electronic music industry so booming.
Here are some of the top DJs in the world, most of them are from Europe.
Daft Punk, electronic musicians from France. Known for their hit song with Pharrell Williams “Get Lucky”. And they are also remembered by many people with their ornate helmets and gloves which they almost never take off in their public appearances. In 2013, their single “Get Lucky” peak in top 10 in 32 countries and led them to five Grammy Awards including Album of the Year and Record of the Year.
Zedd, a young DJ from Germany. Get known by his song “Clarity” featured Foxes which ranked number one at US Hot Dance Club Songs and number at Billboard Hot 100. And the hit song “Break Free” by Ariana Grande which is played all over the radio stations now is also made by him.
Calvin Harris, DJ from Scotland. Had a long experience of recording electronic music, first start recording at 1999, but really become famous all over the world in 2010. Calvin Harris has numerous hit songs like “We Found Love” featured Rihanna, “Sweet Nothing” featured Florence Welch, “I Need Your Love” featured Ellie Goulding and the number one dance song in this summer, “Summer”. What is amazing about it is that some of these songs are still on iTunes Top 50 Dance Chart even after 4 years. Also ,his new single “Blame” featured John Newman is also on Billboard Hot 50 Chart by the time I write this.
There are also a huge number of great DJs that I didn’t mention, like Tiësto, Hardwell, Alesso, Nicky Romero and David Guetta. If you want to see them or any other DJs that you like to appear in my other blogs, please leave me a comment, I will deal with it.
How many DJs can you recognize in this picture? Be honest and don't use Google, you can tell me in the comment.
At last, I have the music video of one of my favorite songs. A almost perfect remix of a slow song by the amazing DJ, Afrojack. (Because this video is originally uploaded to VEVO, you may need to click on the video and click on the link to go to YouTube to watch it.)
